Venturetec Accelerator Program
The Venturetec Accelerator program has been specifically designed to take enterprise technology startups from concept to commercialisation.
Acceptance into our program is highly competitive; we accept less than 5% of applicants and invest exclusively in scalable enterprise technology startups in Asia Pacific region.
Startup teams accepted into the Venturetec Accelerator program receive investment, connections, mentorship, lean startup training, and business support, including:
$75,000 seed funding in exchange for 10% equity; plus potential follow-on investment of up to $200,000 AUD
Six month intensive Lean Startup based training program including over 25 classes and workshops delivered virtually
Unique access to Global Fortune 500 companies as potential customers, partners and investors
Silicon Valley roadshow upon completion of the program to meet with potential investors

Trey Zagante - Founder (AU)
Trey is an experienced strategy and technology consulting executive, and has managed major consulting engagements for large enterprise and government clients across Asia Pacific. Trey is a thought leader on corporate innovation, corporate venturing and corporate-startup collaboration; he regularly advises corporates on enterprise innovation strategy, innovation management, enterprise lean startup adoption, and corporate venture capital. Trey is actively involved in the startup and venture capital ecosystems in Australia, Hong Kong and Singapore; and is a member of the Australian Government’s expert network for accelerating commercialisation. Trey holds an Executive MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management and a Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance. He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management and a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia
Vivian Clark - Managing Partner (AU)
Vivian is the Managing Partner of Venturetec Advisory. She is an experienced C-level executive who has led several tech listings on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) as well as several M&A transactions in the local IT sector. Vivian led the IPO of DWS Advanced Business Solutions (ASX:DWS) in 2006 as the CFO and later COO. Vivian was also the CFO and Company Secretary of SMS Management & Technology (ASX:SMX) that listed via a merger/reverse takeover of Sausage Software in 2000; one of the highest profile transactions during the dot-com boom in Australia. Most recently, Vivian was Associate Vice President of NASDAQ-listed Pactera Technology Ltd, now part of the Blackstone Group (NYSE:BX); where she managed all business operations functions across APAC and oversaw the merger integration of hiSoft Technologies (NASDAQ:HSFT), BearingPoint Consulting (ex-KPMG) and VanceInfo Technologies (NYSE:VIT). Vivian holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Newcastle and a Graduate Diploma of Corporate Governance. She is a Chartered Accountant and Fellow of the Institute of Taxation and a member of both the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Colin Sampson - Venture Partner (SG)
Colin Sampson is Senior Vice President & Ambassador for SAP Asia Pacific Japan (APJ). Colin has been in finance, administration and operational leadership roles at large multinationals in the high-tech industry in the APJ region for over 30 years, including 21 years with SAP. He was most recently the CFO for SAP APJ where he exemplified the role as a business partner, steward, strategic advisor and business leader. Colin sits on the board of the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore and is a trusted advisor to company boards and hi-tech start-ups and works with venture capital companies to incubate, grow and develop start-ups in the APJ region. Colin holds a bachelor’s degree in Commerce and a postgraduate diploma in Accounting. He also holds an MBA, completed a Global Leadership Development Program at INSEAD and is a Chartered Accountant.
David Gee - Venture Partner (AU)
David is an accomplished consulting and technology executive who has held CIO roles in Australia, China, Japan and the US. He currently advises C-suite executives on IT transformation and innovation and is a regular guest speaker at industry events globally. David is recognized as a thought leader on IT transformation and the changing role of corporate CIO’s; he was recently awarded the ‘Banking CIO of the Year’ award for leading the transformation program at Credit Union Australia. Previously, David was Director of IT Advisory at KPMG and Director of Strategy & Innovation at EY. David holds a Bachelor of Economics from Sydney University and an MBA from Macquarie University.
Anne Weatherston - Strategic Advisory Board (AU)
Anne is a global leader of business and technology change with deep expertise in business and IT transformation and digital change. Anne is Non-Executive Director at ASX-listed Mint Wireless and Chief Information Officer at Energy Australia. Previously Anne was Group CIO at ANZ Banking Group; one of the 20 largest banks globally, with operations in over 30 countries. During her tenure at ANZ she led the Board and Executive team on a fact-finding mission to Silicon Valley to better understand the rapidly changing innovation and technology landscape. She has over 20 years experience in senior leadership roles across Asia Pacific and Europe. Anne holds an MBA from University of Glasgow and completed an executive leadership program at Harvard Business School.
Felix Lam - Strategic Advisory Board (HK)
Felix is a key figure in the Hong Kong startup community and one of the most active angel investor’s in HK. He is a guest speaker at many HK startup events and advises the HK government on startup development policy and initiatives and works with several universities in HK and Taiwan to encourage student entrepreneurship. He is Managing Director of Red Chapel Advisors, specializing in cross border angel investments in technology businesses across the Greater China region. Previously, Felix was an engineer and consultant in the telecom and technology sector. Felix holds a Master of Engineering from UNSW and studied postgrad business at AGSM.
Paul Orlando - Strategic Advisory Board (US)
Paul is a serial entrepreneur who has launched businesses in Hong Kong and the US. Paul is currently Venture Partner and Adjunct Professor at the University of Southern California incubation program and he has recently published his first book ‘Startup Sacrilege’. He is Founder of Startups Unplugged and was Co-Founder and Program Director of AcceleratorHK; the first startup accelerator in Hong Kong. Previously, Paul was a global management and technology consultant. Paul holds a BA from Cornell University and an MBA from Columbia Business School.
Etienne Garbugli - Strategic Advisory Board (CA)
Etienne is a serial entrepreneur and a global thought leader on lean startup science. He is the author of the Lean B2B book; which consolidates the best thinking around business-to-business customer development to guide startups to quickly find traction in the enterprise. Etienne is an expert in product design a a former consultant at ThoughtWorks; teaching user research & usability and helping helping both big brands and startups with their UX and marketing strategies. He holds a BA from Concordia University and a post-graduate degree in e-business from HEC Montreal.
Xiaowei Chen - Strategic Advisory Board (CN)
Xiaowei is a globally experienced entrepreneur and executive, having held CEO appointments at major telecom and media companies across Asia. Previously, she was the CEO of Telstra China where she oversaw Telstra’s growing portfolio of digital assets including AutoHome which recently listed on NYSE for over USD$2B. Previous CEO appointments include Orange Sky Digital, CDC Games and China.com. Prior to this she was a consultant at McKinsey and an anchor and executive producer at China Central TV. Dr. Chen holds a BS from University of Science and Technology China, and a PhD in Molecular Genetics/Biochemistry from University of Pittsburgh.
